Manunui Primary students are provided with many opportunities to excel in sporting and cultural areas.
Manunui Primary students are encouraged to be involved in a range of sports, including individual and team sports.
We enter a wide variety of school teams and individuals in local Inter-School competitions and tournaments including; netball, touch rugby, rugby, rippa rugby, cricket, swimming, softball, soccer, basketball, athletics, cross country and hockey.
Our students visit our local maunga, Ruapehu, with our senior school visiting Whakapapa ski area to ski at least once during the winter term. Our junior school visit for fun snow days.
All Manunui students have weekly te reo Maori lessons. Our te reo Maori tutor also takes extension classes in both the junior and senior school.
During term’s two and three we have school wide kapa haka for all year levels. Kapa haka captures the power of language and the power of music.
During term three we have an extension kapa haka group who represent our school at the Tuwharetoa Festival in Taupo.
