TE  RITO  PROGRAMME

AIM:  

To offer a Transition Programme for 4-year old children and their families which enables us to learn about and support students and their needs to ensure they feel accepted and safe in the school environment; as they transition from Early Childhood to Primary School.

WE ENCOURAGE:

·         Teachers, professionals working in partnership with parents for successful transition to school.

·         The communication between school and early childhood setting for teachers and parents / caregivers.

Children have the opportunity to:

·         Make new friends.

·         Improve oral language.

·         Learn new skills: – (eg: Reading, Writing, Mathematics, The Arts and Physical Activity)

·         Practice Co-operation, Teamwork, Sharing and Kindness.

·         Become more independent.

·         Explore new environments - especially school.

·         Transfer what they have learned in familiar environments to unfamiliar settings / activities and people.

·         Learn classroom rules and routines.

·         Experience new challenges.
